DESCRIPTION:20th EISCAT_3D User Meeting (2025-2)\n\n\n\nThe 20th E3D User Meeting (UM) will take place on December 2-3 (week 49). The meeting will start on Tuesday\, Dec 2\, after lunch. The meeting will end on Wednesday\, Dec 3\, before lunch or end of working day depending on interest and submitted presentation/discussion points. The UM will be hybrid\, i.e. physical attendance is at the EISCAT HQ/IRF in Kiruna\, and online participation via Zoom. \n\n\n\nPreliminary subjects of presentations/discussions are E3D data analysis\, a new GUISDAP and other tools\, E3D Common Programmes\, and Visualization. \n\n\n\nWe’ll stick to the traditional scheme with short presentations followed by questions and discussion. Submissions of titles/short abstracts are welcome. The web pages of previous meetings\, 19th E3D UM and 18th E3D UM and earlier\, can give an impression for the arrangements and programme which include in some cases links to the presentation slides. \n\n\n\nThis announcement was last updated on November 4\, 2025. \n\n\n\n————————- \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nRegistration is by filling this Google form. Optionally preliminary titles of presentatons/posters and other comments can be filled. The names and email addresses of registered persons will be used to provide the Zoom link and other updates about the meeting by email. They will be stored as long as E3D User meetings are regularly held\, unless specific removals are requested. \n\n\n\nProgramme\n\n\n\nContributions on any E3D related subject can be submitted. Especially encouraged are discussions of E3D data analysis\, raw and analysed data organization\, E3D Common Programmes\, and Visualization. An ad-hoc programme committee of volunteers might be asked to help if many submissions are received and some need to be postponed to a later user meeting. \n\n\n\nPractical Information\n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place at the IRF premises at the Rymdcampus in Kiruna. The campus can be reached by Länstrafiken Norrbotten bus 501. Online participation is via the Zoom tool licensed by IRF\, i.e. there is no exchange of personal data such as names and email addresses with third parties. SUMMARY:12th EISCAT_3D User Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The EISCAT_3D (E3D) project has been officially started with an opening event on September 7\, 2017\, and is now constructing stage 1. User meetings have been regularly held. Presently  they are held online (Zoom) with a cadence of about 2-3 months. A 12th User Meeting will take place in March 2021\, anticipated duration is about half a day.  As usual\, the meetings should provide a forum for interested scientists who may or may not be directly involved in the design and construction of the E3D project\, and also for persons working more with its administrative\, logistic\, and technical aspects. \nThe meeting will take place on March 5\, 2021\,  9-13 CET. This was the most voted date/time on a Doodle. \nThe suggested general subject of the 12th E3D User meeting is the EISCAT Heater and also the ESR\, especially their future. Also software interfaces between E3D and users\, for scientific analysis of E3D data and radar operations may warrant further discussion after the 11th E3D UM. We’ll stick to the traditional scheme with short presentations followed by questions and discussion. Submissions of titles/short abstracts are welcome. Most of the presentation slides from the 11th E3D UM are linked at the meeting page.\n  \n\n\nRegistration\nRegistration can be done by filling  this Google form. The names and email addresses of registered persons will be used to provide the Zoom link and other updates about the meeting by email. If you have registered for the previous E3D UM in Dec 2020\, you will also receive the Zoom link and other info for this meeting\, and you don’t need to register again. If you would like to submit a presentation or leave other comments\, please use the form or email. The names and emails of persons will be stored as long as E3D User meetings are regularly held\, unless specific removals are requested. \nProgramme\nContributions on any E3D related subject can be submitted. Especially encouraged for this 12th meeting are contributions to science related to the EISCAT Heater and its future. Software interfaces between E3D and users\, and on the scientific analysis of E3D data would also be suitable subjects. The programme of the previous 11th meeting has links to most of the presentations that were given.\n\nPractical Information\nThe workshop will use the Zoom tool licensed by the Uppsala University. The server is operated by Uppsala University which assures that no data exchange with third parties occurs. We do not intend to record the meeting but will make presentation slides publicly available also for some time after the meeting\, if the presenter agrees.

DESCRIPTION:Digital meeting due to the Corona pandemic\nThe EISCAT_3D (E3D) project has been officially started with an opening event on September 7\, 2017\, and is now constructing stage 1. A 11th user meeting was scheduled to take place with physical attendance in Uppsala\, Sweden. \nAs a result of the pandemia and measures to constrain it\, the plans for the 11th meeting had to be revised. We will go for online (Zoom) meetings of about half a day duration\, with a monthly to bi-monthly cadence. As usual\, the meetings should provide a forum for interested scientists who may or may not be directly involved in the design and construction of the E3D project\, and also for persons working more with its administrative\, logistic\, and technical aspects. \nThe initial online E3D user meeting will take place on Wednesday\, December 16\, at 13-17 CET. A next meeting is foreseen for January 2021. \nThe suggested general subject of the 11th E3D User meeting is software interfaces between E3D and users\, for scientific analysis of E3D data and perhaps also for radar operations. We’ll stick to the traditional scheme with short presentations followed by questions and discussion.
